ADFA open day.
« on: February 11, 2017, 07:13:28 PM »
Just had the ADFA open day, went pretty well with plenty of interest in R/C tanks and our 1/6 display. I took just enough figures loose and boxed because of the heat(over 41C, 105F) in a gym with no a/c.I took along WW1 figures that i have used before in displays and boxed Aussie figures, WW1 light horse by Sideshow, 3 SAS versons by BBI, a WW2 pacific theatre by BBI and a WW2 German sniper and the WW2 Jeep by Dragon with engine.Wobbly brought 1/6 vehicles and figures and his R/C tanks as did the Ross and James.

Alright: "fess up.  Who's who among the three "experienced" fellows in the first picture?  And what is the story behind the red caps on the Sturmgeschütz III?

Looks like you had a great time fellas, and nice to put names to faces.

A great display too,  nice selection of time periods and scales, I like it.

Thanks Fella's yes I find the 1/6 to be a good addition to 1/16 tanks it gives people an insight into uniforms and equipment of the era. I some time bring some of my collection of genuine articles and repros such as my bread bag and canteen for example to add to the display  8)

That made me chuckle mate, as I am putting together a DAK uniform at the moment which will go to some shows with me.  Great minds think alike and all that eh ;).  You can see my M40 Tropical tunic over the back of a chair in some of the pics in my Worthing Model Tank Club at the Midhurst show thread.
