Pershing tank 1/16 H.L
« on: November 18, 2017, 06:12:48 PM »
Have a question re H/L Pershing is the main gun too short on it or is it correct ? if too short does any one know where to get correct one from and i will not be using the shooting system so a correct size would be great , any advise much appreciated . Thinking about turning it in to super Pershing if there is a conversion kit available ? Just bought  the H/L Pershing of E-bay for  $91.00 plus $50 post new so cant wait for it to arrive and do some detailing over xmas break ,Cheers Pete.

If you're doing a Super Pershing the barrel length would be irrelevant coz you'll need a longer gun tube to replace the standard tube. Shapeways do some convert to Super Pershing. DKLM do a tube. Ludwigs do a convert too.

Thanks Gary looks great i have ordered the main gun but will have a go at building the armor myself if it doesnt work out will go to plan B and buy it ...the only thing troubling me is the counter weight on the rear of turret is this available to buy ? Cheers Pete.

Thanks Gary think that counter weight on rear of turret will be the hardest to try scratch building , another question is there a more detailed commanders hatch available as it seems to be missing the periscope and detail the same goes for the Sherman . Cheers Pete.

The commanders hatch is similar to the standard however the loaders hatch is a split version there’s very few images of Super Pershing’s even less of the counterweight but there’s a couple of differing versions again depending on who built it. As before Ludwig’s does both items

Cheers

One last question Damo made mention of split hatches on Loaders opening is this hatch the same as M4A3 Shermans commander hatch or a smaller design Cheers Pete.

For the sake of ease you can easily get away with a Sherman split hatch. Have a read of the link, the images are available on the web.

Shapeways do a muzzle break for the Super P... you will need to change the tracks as well depending on how accurate you want to be.. the few SP's that were built all ran the T81 tracks, you can use KV 1 tracks as an alternative ...
Mine has Impact T81 tracks ..

Thanks Ken your super P looks fantastic and good view of split loaders hatch. Will cheat and use real sheet of rusted tin glued on to thick plastic sheet .cheers Pete.

Thanks Ken wow expensive postage for such a small item 10.50 Euro . The rear counter weight turned up as did the long barrel main gun you would think the muzzle brake would be included ..Cheers Pete.

Yeah , I guess the is made for a replacement to the standard one and maybe they think you can use the one off your original cause I think the barrel is primarily made to fit the tamiya Pershing.
I will have a look in my spares box at home pretty I have a tamiya Pershing muzzle break, if I do you can have it for the cost of postage to you.

Cheers Ken
