Something a little left of field
« on: September 21, 2015, 09:00:42 PM »
Thought I would share this build for giggles.
Started with a dead Panzer III
I hope I post the pic's O.K.

Hmm...  ...a styrotank?  ...one of those inflatable tanks used by US to fool the Germans?  ...a shape to mystify ignorant observers (i.e. me)?

The white material is 'core-flute' . I use it is a cheap (free) test build form.
More progress, this time with the printer.

Cool looks good Makepeace  8) 8)
The core flute is a good idea, and then use as a template.

Cheers

Thank you guys. I have found the core-flute very handy. It cuts down on the mistakes.

Yes I could have used it for the A7V lol

So what's the cool looking beast called?

Cheers

It is a Warhammer 40k Rhino. It's a science fiction A.P.C. In the table top war game they are 13cm long.

Thanks for the interest guys.
Here is the next stage. Going from concept in core-flute to the build proper in Perspex.

More Perspex. The mud guards this time. I used some old skateboard bearings for return rollers.
Took a bit of adjustment, but I did get it to fit on the Panzer III chassis.

Top work , you obviously have some great modelling skills.
Your left field project looks great .
Any chance of some pics of your H/L Tiger?

Warhammer have some of the coolest looking tanks. I was first going to do a "Baneblade" in 1/16, but when I scaled it up it was going to be 1.1 meters long. Way to big for me to attempt.

No Wobbly, I'm not talented. Just too stubborn to give up.
Just about ready to start on the paint.
