1/6 Scale DAK Pzr II
« on: December 31, 2016, 10:24:43 PM »
Hi all,

Here is my latest 1/6 vehicle (I know, I know, I said I was only going to do 1/6 figures).

This is Dragons pre built Pzr II Ausf C DAK.  Pretty much still from the box at the moment and lots to do.  I did open up the commanders hatch so that I could add the commander figure, as this pre built model comes with all the hatches glued shut!!! ::)  I also repositioned the cupola so that the hatch opens to the front as all the DAK Pzr II Ausf C with this the cupola I could find pics of had this feature.  In other theatres the hatch opens to the side as the Model comes in the box.
The figure is bashed by me from spare bits and a few bits I bought in for him.  I am still waiting on some insignia to arrive, and I am sure I will find other little details to add.

As always Chaps, all comments and suggestions are welcomed

Thanks mate,

No plans to RC this one.  I would have to pretty much build a whole new lower hull to RC it as the hull is too flimsy and the suspension is not functional at all. I will just be working this one up as a static model.

Thanks Wobbly mate,

Space is a consideration with these, I bought a new sideboard to display this one on ::), it does double as a place to store my growing collection of spare 1/6 scale bits though.  I have a 3 bedroom house to myself here and I still have to think about where stuff is going to be displayed.

Looks great with the backdrop. Have seen this one in the flesh and was very impressed with the quality and paint work.

Paul's 1/6th and 1/16th stuff always leaves me thinking I need to up my game.

Thanks Chris,

The back scene does work particularly well with this one I think.

Two more crew put together for this Pzr II.

The bodies and heads used are from Hot toys on the left and DiD on the right.  Clothing and equipment is from a real mixture of manufacturers including DiD and Dragon as well as others.  The figure on the right does have a Luftwaffe belt buckle which I intend to change when I can obtain a Beer one.

Sorry for the not so great pics, but once posed these are in a pretty inaccessible spot.

And a couple of pics showing the whole diorama, with the 2 new figures at the rear of the tank.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Paul, these photos show your usual, almost uncanny ability to pose the figures to look natural.  Of course, I feel sorry for the fellow out front sweeping for mines while two others are in casual conversation behind the tank.

I would not have realized that "the figure on the right does have a Luftwaffe belt buckle," but you are far more knowledgeable.  However, I wonder what you mean when you write that you "intend to...obtain a Beer one."  Do you mean that you intend to have a beer first before you find the man a correct belt buckle?  Or do you mean that there was such a thing as a "Beer Buckle."  Or do you mean that you will drink beer until you buckle over? ;D

Hi Herr Dr,

I think all of the above :o  I particularly like the idea of a beer before searching for the correct buckle.  I am afraid I have been foiled by that dastardly auto correct again >:(, it should have read Heer buckle, what can you do!! ::)

Thank you too for the praise of the poses for these figures, I do try hard to get natural looking poses for the figures I do, and I do spend a bit of time getting them right, so it is nice when people appreciate the work that goes into this part of the hobby.  I think you are right the chap out front definitely got the short straw, but he is an engineer, so probably loves all that stuff really lol. ;D
