A couple of my tanks and related stuff
« on: December 22, 2015, 03:05:12 PM »
Hi All, seeing as we have this shiny new board I figured I would share some of my bits and pieces.

Apologies for the crappy pics, I had perfect conditions when I set up but the sun blazed out and well you'll see  ::) ::) I'll retake and repost when the opportunity arises until then here we go.... ;D

Starting with my oldest 2002 King Tiger, built by me, she had a refurb a little while ago and has been one of my best runners,

Tiger I, built by me, another great runner even better now she has upgrade tensioners

Leopard 2A6 HEL, built by me, a bit scary chopping up such an expensive Tami but I got over that quite quickly, love this thing though she's not finished, having trouble replicating the turret stowage baskets, then a proper hard edge camo of the HELLENIC Army

M 26 Pershing, built my me this is a flawless runner again even better with Impact T84 tracks

M4 Sherman, built by me, great little runner she's in line for a change to an M4A3E8

ZTZ 99A, built/modded by me this was my first go at scratch building as these came as the ZTZ 99 and boy did I bite off more than I could chew, there was very little ref info when I did this and typically when I'd finish HL brings one out though nowhere near accurate. I also had some fanatstic help from Ken as this was my first foray into elmod & Turnigy and also Diverfrost I'm pretty happy with her although she's got metal running gear and an upgrade elmod and turret mechanisms on the shelf waiting to go in.

Type 10, build by me she's unfinished but nearly there, weathering to go

T 34-85, modded by me she's a great little tank runs on elmod bit embarrassed of the shell hits just a tacky hacky rushed attempt really she be fixed one day. ::)

Kubelwagen Ambulance, built and modded by me I just wanted something different, she's had great response at shows everybody asks if the poor guy's going to live... :o Yes he will the Kube is super quick  ;D ;D ;D (vid on my build thread)

M16 Half track, built by Torro, this is RTR and bag for buck is fantastic she'll be weathered, detailed to bring her up to spec and nothing else until something breaks

More later, hope you enjoy them as much as I have

Cheers Damo

Cheers, Damo!

I enjoyed seeing all those AFVs und den Kübelwagen.  Since you first posted some photos of the JSDF Type 10, I have liked your "what if" camouflage.  It's great to see the other modern tanks, and probably like you, I am eager to see Challengers on the market (but they can wait until my budget stops staggering).  I have a Taigen Pershing; it seems to be a less popular tank, but it has possibilities as one that took the US into the post-war and cold war eras.

Did you figure out how to get the two GIs into the M4 Halftrack?  I broke the steering wheel a bit just trying.  So I made a quick repair and gave up, putting one GI on the Halftrack's hood and one on the hood of a 1/16 Jeep so they could at least pass the time shooting the bull.

As you say, die Tamiya Kübelwagen really fly!  Steering is a challenge, but barring a wreck the man will be saved!

Damo!  That rates an Ooooh, ahhhh, ooooh, ahhhh!  I have been following the threads on your JGSDF Type 10 and it is a triumph!  I see that the Japanese, too, carry a cooler, the now ubiquitous cooler.  I have the cooler (in orange, good for targeting) for my Abrams M1A2, and I am in the process of weathering both.  I need to get some packs and helmets, too, when I can shake the money tree again.
