Anthony's Tanks Update 18/04/17
« on: August 15, 2016, 11:40:14 AM »
Hi Guys

About a year ago I discovered a box with a Dragon 1/35 KT in it, and a few minutes later I discovered the Tamiya RC models.  I thought it was about time to show a few of them, starting with my KT

Tamiya KT  UPGRADES.

Elmod Fusion Pro, Taigen flash, working Headlight and Convoy light, extra working MG in the Turret, DT Gearbox brace, metal exhausts for a Tarr 2 smoker (not yet fitted) and a few other bits and pieces, Impact metal tracks as well.

I am not really big on too much weathering, I prefer them to look like they just came off the train into the staging area

Regards

Anthony

I will make the pics smaller for the next series, and if someone can tell me how to add multiple pics at the same time, that would help.  I did see in BROWES five pics but when I posted the thread only one showed up.

Anthony, you may not be "big on too much weathering," but your Königstiger looks great!  Lots of folks on this list leave their tanks unweathered or only minimally weathered.

To pose multiple photos, I click on the "(more attachments)" text immediately below the "Browse" button box.  I hope you do show more photos of your tanks!

Hi Guys

thanks for the comments, it is appreciated.  Hermann the I.R is from Asiatam in Germany, it was quite hard to actually put it all together but it looks good and of course works with a red led, this does not show up in the pictures.

Ahh, yes the Asiatam set is nice. I got a set(Ken has it now) 5 months after I needed it !
My Panther has the three positions set up, but as I had to wait so long, and thought I would never get the NVG from Asiatam, I continued with the build & secured the hull.
Ordered another set from a different supplier(which arrived in ten days) so mine dont light up.

I have never seen that IR unit, Anthony.  It looks as if it really belongs with your Panther, as if some real tanks had such a gizmo.  Nifty!  I am impressed, too, by the background you chose for your photos.  Is that by a model railroad building set up to created a forced perspective?  Or is that a real building?

Hi Ed

You are correct, it is a model train backdrop, and thank you for the kind comments, I did try to do something a bit different..  I called on my wife's expertise with the photocopier to get it from 1/87 to the correct 1/16 for the Tanks.  Here is a few pics of my Model Train layout, of course it features Tanks and lots of military stuff!

Oh, drool, drool!  Imagine sitting peeking over the Speisekarte, trying to select dinner, and seeing those AFVs roll by. Indeed, look at the interior of that dining car, with its shaded lamps on each table.  Einen Bierhumpen Berliner Weisse, bitte.  Was man sieht, kann man kaum glauben!
