Die Photos zeigen hervorragende Panzer, Herr DirtyHarry!  So viele Deutscher so begabte Modellbauer sind, daß ich neidisch bin.

Your photos show outstanding tanks, DirtyHarry!  So many Germans are such gifted modellers that I am jealous.

My first tank
« Reply #7 on: April 15, 2017, 11:03:01 PM »
Here is my first 1:16 tank. Is now again 9 years ago. The Zimmerit is from Apoxie and with the hand stamped.

The chains are still the plastic chains.

You modeled this Tiger as your first 1/16 tank?  What an outstanding accomplishment!

Zimmeret was a paste? like material that hardened, the Germans applied this in later years to their tanks to prevent magnetic mines sticking to them I'm sure others could divulge more  ???

Here is more information than you probably want, Monty:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimmerit

http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/articles/tech/zimmerit-in-german-use/

http://www.panzerworld.com/zimmerit

If you are interested in how others model a Zimmerit coating, go to Google.com and search the phrase "how to make zimmerit coating"
